Japan and Qatar, the exotic guests of the next America's Cup

The Copa América 2019 will feature the participation of 12 national teams including two guests from the Asian Football Confederation, Japan and Qatar, who confirmed their participation, according to the report of the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) and the Organizing Committee for the 2019 edition, to be held in Brazil .

The invitation to the two Asian representatives was due to the Confederation's interest in participating in South American competitions and the Conmebol's commitment to contribute to the development of football worldwide.

In this regard, the president of CONMEBOL, Eduardo Dominguez said that the "Copa América Brazil 2019 will be an exciting competition, which will have the participation of the national teams of the ten Member Associations", besides the two guests.

"We welcome you again to the selection of Japan, with whose association we are united by a close bond of friendship, and for the first time, we will have the participation of the Qatar team, which will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup, "said Dominguez.

Precisely, the Copa América Brazil 2019 will develop between June and July of next year, so the Local Organizing Committee, is working on the selection of cities and stadiums that will host the games of the contest.

The continental competition is the oldest tournament of the world, which was played for the first time in the city of Buenos Aires, in June 1916. The Copa América Brasil 2019 will be the fifth edition of the tournament organized in the neighboring country.

The Chilean national team will be presented at the next tournament as current champion, with the commitment to defend the titles reached in the Copa América 2015, in which he was local, and in the Copa América Centenario 2016.
