The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced that at 11:40 (Argentine time) the transmission will begin with the start of the eclipse in the commune of Saaverda, in Chile and that at 12:30 You can see the program live and in Spanish "The total solar eclipse of South America in 2020" .
"All those who are in the path of totality will be able to observe one of the most impressive of nature: a total solar eclipse "reported the space agency on its website.
The eclipse will cover part of South America, the Atlantic and the South Pacific, but only those who are in the strip that covers the area Northern Patagonia will be able to see it in its entirety.
For this reason, NASA offers as an alternative the live transmission that can be followed from its YouTube channel or on their social networks, both Facebook and Twitter, both with Spanish version
The eclipse will cross the mountain towns of Aluminé, Junín de los Andes, Las Coloradas and Piedra del Águila in the center of the province of Neuquén; El Cuy, Sierra Colorada, Ramos Mexia and Valcheta on the southern line of the province of Río Negro, and San Antonio, Las Grutas and El Cóndor on the Atlantic coast of Rio Negro.
In other areas it can be seen partially, and the further away you are from the aforementioned strip, the lower the percentage of the solar disk covered by the Moon.
On its website, NASA explained that "The path of the totality has an average width of 56 miles (90 km) and anyone located on the center line of the path of the totality will have approximately 2 minutes and 10 seconds of totality" .
