The BCRA issued a new commemorative coin in homage to Belgrano
This commemorative issue is distinguished by being the first time that the Argentine flag has been presented in color on the reverse of the coin, in a proof quality mintage, issued by said Central Bank. [19659002] The main figure on the obverse is based on the equestrian sculpture by Manuel Belgrano, located in the Plaza de Mayo. In its right angle, the inscription “1820-2020” represents the 200 years of the commemoration of the Passage to Immortality of General Manuel Belgrano. The upper arch reads “REPÚBLICA ARGENTINA” and the lower arch, “GRAL. MANUEL BELGRANO. ”
The reverse illustrates in the center the National Flag, represented in color, and the signature of the hero on the national symbol. The upper arch reads “XX VI MMXX” and the lower one, the face value “ONE PESO.”
The coin is 900 silver, has a diameter of 37 mm and weighs 25 grams. The edge is striated. The presentation includes a case, acrylic capsule and certificate of authenticity.
The design of this commemorative coin was made by the Strategic Planning Management of Tesoro - Sub-management of Numismatic Emissions of the BCRA.
The total issue is of 3,000 units and were minted by Mennica Polska SA
