Regarding the level of monetary issue, which already exceeds one trillion pesos, the economist assured that at the moment it is not having an impact but it may have it in the future if a good sterilization of the amount of pesos in circulation is not done.
Lavagna clarified that the function of the agency under his charge is technical and that his reports should not change according to the current political assessment.
In this sense, during an interview with Radio del Plata He abstained at all times from making assessments on what the economic direction should be and stressed that INDEC "is like a good tomographer, who gives an image, a diagnosis to the doctor, and it will be he who makes the decisions."
This Wednesday, INDEC announced that June inflation accelerated slightly to 2.2% and closed the first half with an increase of 13.6%, the lowest for this period since 2017.  Regarding the main price increases, the Vagna explained that those observed in the household equipment category responded, fundamentally, to a rise in refrigerators, while those displayed in entertainment were rooted in a jump in the value of televisions.
The son of the former minister of Economy, Roberto Lavagna, highlighted the great technical level with which the organization received from its predecessor, Jorge Todesca, and assured that INDEC "must remain independent" from the political visions of the government in power.
In this framework , announced that the agency will begin to broadcast weekly and monthly radio reports (podcasts), in which they will address specific topics "to reach more people, with more accessible information."
