Actress and singer Dina Rot, mother of Cecilia Roth, has died

The infection that caused his death had arisen as a result of a contagion of coronavirus which he managed to overcome although it left serious consequences.

Born in Mendoza in 1932, under the name Dina Gutkin Saposnik , took her stage name by reducing the surname of her husband, Abrasha Abraham Rotenberg a Jewish Russian immigrant who worked at the newspaper La Opinion.

With studies at the Collegium Musicum and at the University of Salvador , the artist recorded about 12 albums with a varied repertoire ranging from Latin American song to Jewish songbook.

At the beginning of the last civic-military dictatorship in our country, Dina Rot had to emigrate to Spain after reciting a poetry by Juan Gelman ; and after the return of democracy, he began to distribute his residence between both countries.

In Argentina, he associated with the poet Jorge Schussheim with whom he worked on a series of compositions based on texts from Gabriela Mistral, Raúl González Tuñón and Pablo Neruda among other renowned authors from the region.

In recent years, Dina Rot has taught music courses and seminars in Spain and Argentina.
