No confrontation between institutions, Ahsan says as he visits martyred soldier’s house

There’s no confrontation between the institutions of the country, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal said as he visited the house of Pakistan Army officer martyred in a terror attack in Kurram Agency on Sunday.

Captain Husnain Ali and three Frontier Corps personnel embraced martyrdom as three improvised explosive devices exploded in the border village of Kharlachi in the tribal agency.

“We are proud of our soldiers rendering sacrifices for the motherland,” Ahsan said. “Personnel of the armed forces are risking their lives battling the terrorists, and they are our pride.”

Didn’t mean to hurt anyone, I respect every soldier of Pak Army: Ahsan Iqbal

“Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war on terror are unmatchable,” the minister remarked.

When asked about his earlier statement wherein he had advised DG Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) to refrain from commenting on the country’s economy, Ahsan said he had already issued a clarifying statement and that the matter had been settled.

The enemies of the country want to fuel an environment of mistrust to achieve their vested objectives, he added.

Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor had said he was disappointed by the minister’s remarks both as a soldier and as a Pakistani citizen.
